Memorial Day Getaway!

Caitlynn and Zach let us crash their friends weekend
at the cabin for Memorial Day weekend!
By the end of the weekend we had been
invited and accepted into the cult.
It totally snowed. Woops.
Meet Cassie and Chelsea.
And Crazy Cait in the mid.
Now jump to the last day...sigh. Beauty.
We had a picnic before us Underwoods said adios.
We were sad. We loved this fun filled weekend. Fast friends.
I love seeing new friends love on our son. It warms my heart.
Thank you Noah and Cassie for playing with the boy. And for a bomb dance party.
It was SO fun to have another little one around.
Hi Amelia. Sweet thing.
Speaking of sweet...And looking a little bewildered.
Ridiculous that this is the only picture I have
of Caitlynn and Zach from the weekend.

Love these best friends.
Thank you for including us in your tradition this year.
We talked about how wonderful it was for days afterwards.
That's real.

I am so thankful that the Lord has blessed you with wonderful, encouraging, understanding, hilarious, godly friends.
It's a beautiful thing.

I cannot wait for him to make a million memories here.

Thanks little family for an amazing weekend.

We sang. We danced.
We hid in the dark. We laughed.
We love the cult.

Can we come next year, too?

Rock 'n Roll Marathon!!

Many many months ago,December to be exact,
Carolyn sent an email to the fam inviting us all
to do a marathon with her in June.
A MARATHON. 26.2 MILES.
Kyle accepted the challenge and the training began.
June 2nd arrived.
They woke up early burly and found their corrals.

Those of us who kindly responded "no thanks" to Mom's email,
found a perfect spot to wait and watch.
The people watching was crazy! We loved it.

First up, Kyle came by!! He looked SO good.
(If I do say so myself)

G-unit was fighting a nap so he was still awake to see Daddy!
We think it lifted his spirits.

Captain of the team "Kiki Made Me Do It"
And she did. A whole gang of them. Pretty impressive.
I love that BFF KLC.

We continued to wait.

Vali came through next!

We saw these three coming from a ways away!
They seemed very joyful!

Grandma was excited to see us!

We were just as excited. As you can tell.

Then we saw Erin and Jill!!
26.2 miles, you guys!
Not 3. Not 8! Not 13! Not 20!!
26.2!!!

Everyone crossed the finish line!
So proud of you, Mom!!
Graham likes the taste of victory.

Graham's dad is a marathoner.
(and an exceptional one at that!)

They made a memory. A memory 6 months in the making.
Broken bones, long Saturdays, shot blocks,
mile mapping, enduring.

Marathoners.
No big deal. But it's an honor.

My First Mother's Day!

You, my sweet boy, have made me the happiest mom on the planet.
A happy Mother's Day, indeed.

We got to spend the weekend in Nipomo with
Scott, Carolyn, and the Bells!

Grandma and Grandpa came over for a night, too!

Look at that joyful Mother's Day face!

Graham gave me flowers and an awesome awesome kite!

Moms and daughters.

So thankful for my own mom and all that she has shown me
in being a selfless, joyful, Christ loving mother.

Happy Mother's Day.
What an joy. What a lovely weekend.

3 years of belonging.

3 years being the best of friends.

3 years of adoration.

Camping at Grandpa's!

Let the record show that we spent the weekend in Grandpa's bunk house with Caitlynn and Zach!

A camping trip had been on the calendar for months but little did we know that no camp grounds were open and that it was fixing to rain that weekend...

So we invited ourselves up to Kyle's grandpa's house in Wrightwood and had a ball.

We arrived in the middle of a snow storm. There's no way we could have done it without a room and a heater.

But other then those delicious amenities, we were campers!

We snuggled and stayed inside for a while just doing nothing.
Which was LOVELY.

We bundled up and went on walks....Also, LOVELY.

Shot some targets.
Sharp shoot right there. For reals.

Aunt Caitlynn was on Graham vs. Dirt patrol.

It was SUCH a fun filled get-a-way.
Much needed.

And Kyle got to fulfill his "Who am I?" joke...
Sooooo...totally worth it.
