Last fall you had a breakthrough.
As your dad and I closed your door, Bennett started crying.
We lingered by the door...silently praying but not certain what our prayer should be. But the Lord knew.
We heard a little voice: "Oh Bennett don't cry. I will sing you a song." And the words to "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" filled the room and took our breath away.
Your dad and I just let the tears fall down our cheeks as we held hands and praised God, right then and there, for working in your hearts and giving us a glimpse of a forever friendship that we beg will become reality.
Of course your days aren't perfect. You are definitely still figuring out how to play with each other, respect each other, and not knock each other over every other second. (Graham.) We are so often back on our knees seeking wisdom and patience...
But because of that we don't take for granted the times when you both back up against the wall and look at each other as Bennett says "Race?" and Graham responds "Sure!" and you take off giggling all the way.
Or how Bennett will share any thing at anytime with Graham. As soon as it is in his hand he is making sure Graham has some as well. Bennett you are the most generous little brother we've ever seen.
You are sharing phrases, laughs, and hobbies and it's the hope and reminder to keep lifting you boys up to Jesus.
We always tell you that you are "brother friends forever". That you look out for each other and take care of each other no matter what. Hopefully our words are sinking in...
Because come April we're adding a third amigo to your band of brothers.
Buckle up everyone.
Cheers to big brothers. 2015.
