Palm Desert Vacation!

Oh man. We were looking forward to this trip all month! Of course it wasn't to escape the heat. As we headed out, Bennett asked if it was going to be cold at the desert. Kyle and I just laughed in his face. We were leaving 100 degrees for 110...

Look at these thrilled caravaners! We made a quick stop at In-n-out. Dad ran in while Graham wrote his ABCs and Bennett asked to hold Nolan. Did I mention thrilled yet? PS At this time in life Bink, much to his dad's dismay, does not enjoy anything except french fries from In-n-out.

Mom did so so great picking our room. Waterfall view, ducks for days, golfers, and lots of grass for races.
Hey there pool guys.
Nolan's first time in the pool! Well, except the week prior when we jumped in to save Bennett. Not fun. But THIS, this was fun. He lasted about 8 minutes. And may have swallowed some water but the jury's still out.
Palm Desert Vacay means pool days and pool pics on repeat. And floppy hats and shades. @caitlynnmaebellIMG_1866
These boys love their Aunt Cait....and look at this kid. He's just a riot.

Harper and Owen's first time swimming, too! They did so great.
Then they got photo bombed by a flying child. And probably splashed too.
Me: Graham, would you rather have a flamingo or a duck for a pet? G: Um, how bout a dog?

Nature day.

Sprinklers when it's over 100 bring giddiness.
Note to self: Make anything a race and your boys will jump right in.

Lazy desert mornings while the men golfed. Well, I should speak for myself. This was the morning that Gwamma and the boys did "big" races. Nolan and I = lazy.
Baths often get neglected when we swim everyday. Nolan's like "What gives!? Baths are my favorite!"
Honestly, this boy's bath time was neglected because the big brother's were swimming everyday.
When we finally made the time, well, his face says it all.

Our little family went to the other hotel to play "18" holes of mini-golf and catch a boat ride.
It was sweltering. We may have secretly skipped some holes and cheered for the water hazards.
But the boat ride, sigh, lovely. Breezy and shaded. And our boys loved every second.
Can you say "margaritas and manicures"?
Hilarious and delicious. Thanks Marriott activity gals.

Vacation is great. Vacation with sweet be-be cousins is amazing.
There's just something about the slow paced day and no agenda that makes you really soak up vacation and make precious memories.

Thanks Mom and Dad. We love sweaty, low-key vacations with you. Thank you for your selflessness, generosity, and for loving all of our boys so well.

Oh and this? Graham's new silly face. So, look forward to more of these.

Binko: 2 and beyond!

Bennett Scott, you are the quirkiest, most hilarious, kindest, thoughtful two year old I've ever encountered. That's the truth. IMG_1641IMG_1668
Some of our favorite Bennett-isms:

"Oh! Ok!"
"Uh-huh. That's right!"
"Ahhh, WHYYYY?"
"....for a minute." (You like to add this to anything you are doing.)
"We can go there er something? We can go there someday."
IMG_1676IMG_1685
"Pu-fect."
"Here you go, Bud! Good job, Bud! Yes you can, Bud!"
"I'm a caterpillar boy!"

"My diaper EXPLODED!"
Mom: "What did it look like?"
"It yooked like a HOTDOG!"
Feb 2015The face of a kid who asked to go número dos in public and succeeded! And then made quite a mess of things 15 minutes later. So close, B, so so close.
"Buzz! A rescue!"
"Buzz and beyond!"

(Gasp and stop in his tracks) "I hear Dad! I'm eating dirt!"
D: "Don't eat dirt it's not good for you."
B: "Food is good for me. Hot dogs are good for me."
He seriously cannot contain his love/affection/obsession. Adorable, yes. Helpful, yes. Safe, working on it.
"Ohhhhh...he's sooo cuuuute!"
"No, don't take that sweet boy!"
"It's ok No-yen."
"Noyen kicked me! Pease don't kick me, Noyen!"
"He yoooves to burp!" (as he smacks Nolan's back.)
Hide-and-go-seek this evening with this little booty. We were the seekers because we can count to eleven. The hider waited at the top of the stairs. Soooooo we won.Feb 2015
"Ohhhhh k. I'll try."
"I stopped crying!"
"I'll wipe for you."
"In else?" (what else?)
"I'm tickly."
"Does this feel you good?"
"That feels me good."
Bennett's been using his "oh how cuuuute" voice on everyone...not just babies and kittens. Even worms. Today: big brother. Such a lover.
And then this one time while they should have been snug in their beds...
B:"Let's go kiss Mom."
G: "Ok!"
B: "Good idea! Come on!"

Puter. (Computer)
"I have to do some work on the puter."
"I'm texting Cait."
Howdy, middle child. Killing it today.
 "You talking to me?!"
"I spy little called hmmmm...." (Playing I-spy)
"Ohhhhh but I yove sugar..."

Gwampa: "Your name is Bennett Underwood."
B: "No! My name is Bennett Under-WOOOOD!"

"Deegan" (The End.)
